Learning Goal - Writing Example: Presentation Forms
Skill or Concept Description for Learning Goal

There are almost infinite ways to present information. You can use any topic, from any subject. Topics could be fictional or real. You might be giving information about a book you read, concept you learned, experience you had or story you wrote. Debates are also a form of presenting. In short, any time you share your thoughts, you are using some for of presentation.

In English and Social Studies there are particular opportunities for building presentation skills. Below you will see the specific requirements for each grade.

Younger students might practice presenting by choosing a topic they are very familiar with such as what they did for their birthday. Students in grades 4 and up should be given an opportunity to present on a topic from their learning. The length of these presentations should progress as their skills progress. This does not necessarily mean that all students in grade 7, for example, would be doing the same length or complexity of presentation.
